This 'encourages' people to purchase the full version of the software. It is normal for the free/cheap end of the AV market to have a higher number of 'positives' than other similar software.

Depending on the software this can be automatic or you can normally have it prompt you for permission.
WIN32 MALWARE GEN AVAST FALSE POSITIVE 2017 UPDATE
Please ensure that aces.exe, gjagent.exe, run.exe and launcher.exe all have the appropriate access rights to update your game files. It is 'seeing this' as an attack on the computer, which it is not. It would appear that bit defender is generating a 'false positive' when the update file is unpacking. It is a fully paid for package (not free) and is used by many Western governments, organisations and defence forces. I have no issue with the latest update on my AV software. I would suggest that you all refer this issue to bit defender. Now I am confused.one moment the files are "infected", the next they're not? I'm missing something.īoth files show version#1.67.2.1.54, the 32 bit version is 24.1mb, the 64bit is 31.1 mb and both appear to have been digitally signed by Gaijin. I even double checked that nothing to do with War Thunder was being excluded from the scans. Not sure what to make of this.Īs far as I can tell nothing was updated during the interval I was running thru the steps. I manually deleted the files, and used the WT launcher to retrieve them again in the same manner that had resulted warnings before - and again the files passed. Before uploading I decided to re-enable real time scanning in bitdefender I ran manual scans on the files - and they both passed (there are two versions of aces.exe in the war thunder directory, one in win32, and one in win 64). I temporarily disabled the real time/on access scan so I could have the launcher retrieve the file(intending to upload it to bitdefender for analysis). There was a bitdefender update that required a reboot - but on restart, and using WT's launcher to re-download the file, bitdefender issued the same warning/deleting the file. Odd thing is, within a span of mere minutes, re-downloading the files is no longer triggers any warnings.
